Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker earning her masters in social work degree at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and bachelors in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University. She specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression and grief & loss in individuals in high-stress professions including athletes. With experience as a trauma therapist, critical care social worker at a Level I trauma center and a former first responder, she understands the realities of emergency work and the impact it can have on mental health, relationships, and identity.
Her work has placed her in close proximity to emergency and critical care environments, giving her a clear understanding of the pressure, trauma exposure, and emotional demands that often come with these roles.
She understands the power in healing to spark a resurgence in life.
Megan is also part of the Adjunct professor roster for the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign School of Social Work.
When the therapist hat is off, she is found spending time with her spouse, daughter, dog, family and friends. As a fitness and a Chicago sports enthusiast, she carves out time to watch sports, stay active hiking, weightlifting, walking and golfing. When she can, she loves collecting comic books and trading cards.
